Installing Debian into a Solaris BrandZ Zone

Sun’s BrandZ technology allows for various “brands” to be installed into Solaris Zones; these brands are essentially other operating systems running under/with a Solaris kernel as a virtual instance. When BrandZ was first announced, it was made very clear that the only Linux distribution supported was Red Hat, or Red Hat-derived distributions like CentOS, etc. |

OpenVZ Project Releases Templates to Create Debian Virtual Priva

The OpenVZ Project has released several templates for virtual images, with two of them being Debian 3.1 for i386 and x86-64.
Debian is so far the only non-Red Hat-derived distribution provided, with the other available images being of CentOS and Fedora. All of the images are available here.

Andreas Barth posted to debian-devel-announce on the current status and plans for releasing Etch.
“The good news is that we are on track” for an Etch release in December of 2006.
